Bakelite Dulci Desk Microphone With Stand W26 4001 No 1
This Bakelite Dulci Desk Microphone With Stand W26 4001 No 1 and integral spring suspension was actually retro in the late 1940s/50s when it was first manufactured. It’s basic design can be traced back to the 1920s/30s!
This is a quite rare entity as not only does it have the microphone suspended in a baffle but it also attached via a chromed stand to a bakelite base. Unfortunately, the mic isn't working.
The base comprises a
- Pilot (with a small bulb)
- Switch
- Volume control knob and dial
- Two Output connectors
Manufactured by Dulci Radio Ltd., also “The Dulci Company Ltd.” 97 Villiers Rd., London NW2, England. It is becoming rare to find this type of home desk microphone. Dulci were better known as makers of crystal radio sets.
This heavy bakelite and metal microphone is in fair condition, with surface scuffs, paint loss, and scratches commensurate with age and use. A great addition to the radio shack or Man Cave albeit in non-working condition!
